K2 or K2 Jasper, isn't actually a Jasper. It is white granite that contains contrasting orbs of bright blue Azurite (the granite is composed of quartz, plagioclase, muscovite and biotite). Some specimens also have areas stained green with malachite.
K2 is a rare and unique stone named after the second highest mountain in the world with a summit of 8,611 metres in Pakistan where it is mined.
K2, also known as Mount Godwin Austen, is in a very remote area which makes this a rarer stone to find. The azurite granite (K2) is found in colluvium near the base of the mountain.
K2 can be used for the Root, Third Eye and Crown Chakras.
